A friend gave me a ball of Hedgehog Fibre yarn. The colors are really nice. I wanted to use it for something I can use, so I knitted a Möbius scarf from it. The scarf is long enough to fit out my neck twice. It could also be used as a summer cape. Knitted with 3mm needles.
During summer I started on a triangular shawl. Now finally it got finished. The pattern is a part of a table cloth designed by Herbert Niebling. I arranged the leaf pattern to be used for a triangular shawl. The shawl is knitted with white cotton yarn on 3.5mm needles.
I just learnt that on Amazon Japan my knitting book “ベルンド・ケストラーのスパイラルソックス” is ranking 1st in the category for knitting and ranks 404 among all book available on Amazon Japan. At least that was the latest I saw. The book is currently labeled there as ベストセラー1位. Pretty cool, for my first book out here in Japan.
The other day I got some very thick yarn. After some thinking, I decided to use it for a German lace doily. I used an old pattern from Erich Engeln and knitted it exactly as charted 70 years ago, just with 5 times bigger needles (10mm). It turned out really nice. Now I am using it as a small rug in front of my rocking chair.
While working on my spiral-socks book, I came with the idea to shape and sculpture them into a lace light. After several month of thinking and planning I finally got my first socks sculpture done. Now I know how to make them and want to make for for a lace light installation.
